Processes


Will I be able to design my own processes?

Yes, GPI 300 allows you to draw your own organizational processes and turn them into live projects. It is as easy as dragging and dropping activities, assigning responsible roles, work products inputs and outputs, etc.

How many processes can I have?

As many as you'd like. GPI 300 does not put you a limit for your processes. From light weight to heavy duty process. They are all supported within our solution. Then, you simply select which process you want your specific project to follow and voila... The project will run as you have specified on your processes.

What happens to my other current projects if I set one to inactive?

No worries, all projects you have already going will follow the process originally assigned to them. New versions of that process will be available for new projects and you will be able to run both parallel.

Will I be able to roll back an older process?

All processes and its components, as well as all documents under Data Management within the tool, are under version control. This means you will be able to track changes, roll back to previous versions everything.

Will I be able to configure CMMI processes?

GPI 300 is the perfect tool to easy implement and institutionalized all CMMI process areas. GPI 300 will not only assist you to implement process but also will make everyone to follow the rules you decide.

What about other quality models such as ISO, SPICE?

Our solution is as open as you'd like. Any process which follows the simple universal processes rules such as: activities/steps, inputs, outputs, responsible roles, work products, etc. fits into our process designer.


Project Management


How many projects can I manage?

Unlimited, as many as you have.

Will I be able to run short-lightweight project as well as heavy-weight projects?

Absolutely, as matter of fact, GPI is the right tool to manage all kind of projects since you will be able to select the right process to follow according to the specific characteristic of each project.

If it is maintenance on-going project, a large software development or just simple straight forward web site page. You set your own rules. We help you to follow them.

Will I have visibility of how my projects are performing?

Yes, through our summary and project dashboards, you will have valuable information at your fingertips, which projects are late, which tasks are behind schedule, how each project is performing regarding weekly productivity.

Will I have visibility of resources allocation and availability?

Absolutely, GPI 300 provides you with full visibility of your resource utilization through summary and project dashboards. You can drill down on the resource utilization dashboard to get more deep info about billable vs. non-billable work, project resources allocation and so forth.

How intelligent is GPI when it comes to task assignation?

When it comes to task assignation, GPI 300 will let you know the resources that were already assigned to other tasks within that timeframe. This will help you better plan your projects.

Will I be able to enter time into a time sheet?

Of course, not only that. It manages approval circuit of your time sheet. You can set up all holidays, leaves, vacation time in advance in order to plan project calendar more accurate.

How does it manage requirements? And how are they related to project tasks?

GPI 300 allows you to create requirements, submit them through approval circuits, evaluate the impact it has on planning and calendar, re-plan your activities, create new tasks and link them to specific requirements. This way your organization has full traceability of requirements with its task.

Will I be able to import/export from/to MSProject?

Yes, even though we encourage you to plan your projects entirely through GPI 300; you can always export your plan to MS Project for Gant chart visualization or vice versa.

What happens if a requirement has changes?

You will be able to create a change request, link that to a requirement, submit for approval or evaluation, and trace back all task, requirements and change request.

Does GPI support Earned Value Management?

Yes it does, EVM is a high end project management practice that allows you to manage cost variance, budget deviation and schedule variance. GPI 300 provides you with EVM reports and charts that will allow you to keep your project under control.

What about reports?

GPI provides you a wide range of reports, from project management reports to executive reports to evaluate project profitability and cost deviations.
